Anchovy is the object of high production in the first 6 months of this year

In the first 6 months of this year, although fuel prices are still high, aquatic resources are showing signs of decline, significantly affecting the fishing efficiency of ship owners, however, many large-capacity fishing vessels in the districts of Quynh Luu, Nghi Loc, Dien Chau, Hoang Mai town, etc. have reached out to participate in fishing by professions: nets, trawls, seine nets, underwater fishing lights, fishing rod, etc. The main products are squid, scad, indian mackerel, etc. A number of ships can catch largehead hairtail and mackerel with high economic value.

The high-yield fish such as anchovy, herring, are priced from 12,000 to 15,000 VND/kg; scad, indian mackerel largehead are priced from 12,000 to 15,000 VND/kg; hairtail, mackerel, etc. are priced at 100,000 - 120,000 VND/kg;

According to the Fisheries Sub-Department, in the first 6 months of 2023, the fishing output at sea reached nearly 102,000 tons of all kinds of seafood, equaling 55.58% of the year plan, equaling 103.59 % compared to the same period last year. On average, the value of seafood collected is estimated at about 2,000 billion VND.

In addition, in 6 months, in-field fishing is estimated at more than 3,440 tons of seafood, worth an estimated 425 billion VND, equaling 68.92% of the year plan.

Nghe An currently has 3,469 fishing vessels, with a total capacity of 654,224 CV, of which 1,762 are the number of fishing vessels over 15m. For many years, Nghe An fishermen have invested in modern fishing support technology, such as upgrading LED lighting, fish detectors, hydraulic winches, etc., so the efficiency of fishing is getting higher and higher.
